Cruisin’ Autumn is judged by 2-person, independent judging teams, not club members or participants. Scoring is based solely on quality of workmanship, detailing, and cleanliness. To further insure impartiality, each judge is paired with someone whom they do not know.
Hoods must be up so the judges can fully inspect the engine compartment. Both front windows must be down to allow the judges a good look at the interior. Since we understand that some cars arrive with lots of stuff in the trunk, trunk lids can be up or down at the owner’s option.

1. How is your show judged?
To insure fair and impartial judging, we use 2-person judging teams recruited from all over the Northeast Texas area. These persons are not members of the Wolfe City Cruisers Car Club, but are selected primarily from people connected with the car hobby in some way. Each judge is paired with another judge whom they do not know. We believe our judging system is largely responsible for our show’s growth.
2. How do you decide what classes you will have?
Due to the dramatic growth of our show, we have added new classes each year based on the prior year’s turnout. Our goal is to have no small classes and no huge classes. Small classes often result in not enough cars for the trophies allotted. Large classes means too many good cars going home without an award. We are always interested in talking to people who have ideas for new classes.
3. How do you decide whether a vehicle is Original or Modified?
Our Original vs. Modified classes are created simply to have comparable cars judged against each other.
In Original classes, our judges are specifically instructed to judge solely on quality of workmanship, detail, and cleanliness—not originality.
We understand
that many cars in Original Class are not totally original. At most shows, there
are very few 100% original, concours cars. We leave it up the owner to place
their car in Original or
Modified, based on whether it primarily looks Original or primarily looks Modified. If the owner is in doubt, our show staff will help make the decision.
To give an example of how we approach it, let’s look at a ’57 Chevy with original, painted valve covers and another ’57 with add-on chrome covers. Our judges are scoring the quality of the paint versus the quality of the chrome, not what is original.
Generally speaking, we consider a car “Modified” if it has major changes such as custom interior, custom paint, chromed-out engine compartment, or a non-stock engine change.
Minor charges such as a few chrome items underhood, “period-correct” mags, radial tires, generator to alternator, etc. are acceptable in Original Class.
Bottom line: Does the vehicle look mostly stock or have a more modified look?
4. Do you allow Trailered Vehicles?
Yes. Vehicles that are trailered to Wolfe City are put in a Trailered class. We feel these cars should compete separately from vehicles that are driven to the show.
In order to compete in a non-Trailered class, a vehicle must arrive at the City Limits under its' own power. We will not allow a car to be trailered in and off-loaded at a remote location.
Please note: Pre-50’s Original Cars, Pre-60’s Original Trucks and Special Interest Vehicles that are trailered to Wolfe City are exempt from this rule and may enter a street-driven or trailered class at their option.
5. My car is not in show condition. Can I still participate in your show?
Absolutely! We have a special “Display Only” section and these cars are not judged. For $10, you will get a Free T-shirt, dash plaque and goodie bag (first 250 registered vehicles). Great deal!
6. How is your scoring done?
Our judges score on a 300 point system: 100 interior, 100 exterior, and 100 engine compartment. We require your hood to be fully open so that the judges can view your engine compartment. Both front windows must be down so that the interior can be judged.
Trunks
may be open or closed at the owner’s option.
